NAIROBI, 21 Nov : The2nd session of the Executive Board (EB) of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) for the year 2022 commenced on Monday, 21st November2022, with delegates participating in-person at the UN-Habitat headquarters in Nairobi.
Malaysia congratulated the Executive Director on her leadership during one of the most challenging times facing the world. In support of the work of UN-Habitat, Malaysia made anon-earmarked contribution of 1 million USD for the year 2022. There presentative stressed that due to the rapid growth of world’s urban population, sustainable urbanization has become more urgent now than ever before.
She underscored that sustainability is & must be a collective effort & requires a collaborative approach to address pressing & urgent issues. In addition, she highlighted the development of its SDG Cities programme aligned to UN-Habitat’s Flagship Programme.
