The UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP) is the main decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and is held every year, to assess the measures of the parties to limit climate change. This year the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, from 6 to 18 November.
With continued challenges of growth and 77% urbanisation rate, Malaysia is challenged by the impacts of environmental degradation and climate change and as such will also focus on the right balance between growth and measures needed to address these rising environmental issues.
Under this context, URBANICE Malaysia and The Ministry of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia (KPKT) will engaging at COP27 in many ways including side events and other activities in collaboration with member States and various partners, which will showcase the outcomes of regional deliberations and innovative initiatives at the global platform.
