On the Malaysia Day, a side event titled "REGIONAL ACTIONS FOR SDG LOCALIZATION AND RESILIENCE," achieved resounding success with a full house attendance during the SDG Action Weekend at UNHQ New York.
This event brought together a distinguished group of leaders and organizations, including the Permanent Mission of Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations, along with the Ministry of Economy and Local Government Development of Malaysia, UN-Habitat, UNESCAP, Local 2030, UCLG ASPAC, and URBANICE Malaysia.
Focused on regional approaches that consider local, national, and regional factors to accelerate progress towards the 2030 Agenda, this event featured discussions on strategies, policies, actions, and collaborations that can assist governments in implementing the SDGs at the local level while strengthening local resilience. Additionally, the event underscored the importance of addressing disparities, improving the well-being of marginalized populations, promoting inclusivity, and advancing gender equality efforts, all contributing to global stability and resilience. #sdgactionweekend
